Great service, friendly family restaurant. We had the birria quesadilla, chile relleno, carne asada and camarones platters. Tasty flavors all around, generous portions. It took an extra minute for the food but was well worth it. We went to watch the soccer match and enjoyed the big screens and this great little place in East Hollywood. It will be very easy to come back again next time. We are so glad we found this spot!

Best Mexican I've had in a long time!!!!! If you're thinking of Mexican food, definitely go here! If I lived out here I'd be dining here everyday!!!!

This place is really great, and special. The food was extremely fresh and tasty, like a family home cooked meal. The service was really nice. The ambience was wonderful. It was really homey, cute, and we felt cozy. I have driven by this place so many times and always wanted to try it. I'm glad I did! I would definitely go back. The karaoke aspect next door is really neat too.

As a seasoned LA resident, I only spend my money at mom and pops and El Chavocho always pulls through when Im hungry for some homecooked food. The vibe is super homey and I often order the higado encebollado and my partner jumps btwn the pozole, carne asada plate, or the fajitas, of which are all good for the price. we often go after 9pm but in the times we go at 1-2pm on the weekends, you can expect to wait a bit longer because of that post-church rush. sadly, this area is getting gentrified more and more by the day, so please dont listen to the bad reviews from people who don't understand the culture and refer to their community members as "these people." monolingual gentrifiers can f*** off :)

came in for father's day and they did amazing job serving the food on time... they also have a cool jukebox where you can play whatever genre music you'd like
